When its all said and done, poetry is understood to be a piece of literature authored by a poet to convey emotions, with varying styles and types of metaphors, similes etc. So to be a good poet it’s important to read about and know very well what many of these definitions mean before diving in to the realm of actually writing. Another technique that could be used is usually to search on your path by having a library or even the internet and read many of the works of famous poets in different styles.
